Hotel Swimming Pool Renovations - Bringing the Outdoors In
We were thrilled to be approached by Thainstone House Hotel to collaborate on their hotel swimming pool renovation, a project that perfectly captures what we love doing most.
The brief was clear: bring the outdoors in, embracing the stunning natural surroundings and rolling Aberdeenshire hills to create a luxury hotel pool environment that felt connected to its landscape.
The Design Challenge
Working closely with the Spa Manager, we sourced and created a bespoke nature-inspired wall panel design that could flow seamlessly around the pool room, integrating with the bordered tile areas already in place. Rather than a full strip-out and rebuild, we demonstrated how smart, targeted updates to an existing hotel pool space can deliver dramatic results.
We also provided colour consultancy, recommending full-height darker complementary greens to unify the space, proving that cohesive interior design choices can be just as transformative as structural changes.
The Result
The finished space is dramatically more modern and sophisticated. This project is a great example of how hotel pool refurbishment doesn't always require starting from scratch, sometimes it simply takes the right creative expertise and materials.
