A dream-boat bathroom
Many of our customers have creative ideas for their bathroom, but this one takes it to another level!
Jane has had her cherished ‘clinker pram dinghy’ bath for many years – it has followed her from house to house as the main feature in her bathroom. This time, to create her dream bathroom, she wanted it to feel like she was surrounded by the beach and gently crashing waves… a tranquil setting to put the boat in its natural setting for the ultimate ‘relaxing soak’.
Having drawn up plans and found a suitably expert fitter (great work Martin, @littlelane_carpentry ) the work began on setting up the design. Jane loved our Coastal Sunset image - one from our Standard Designs, but wanted it to wrap around three of the four walls in the room, to provide a seamless backdrop for the walk-in shower, splash-back / panelling for behind the sink, AND a panorama behind and around the boat bath! With some clever cropping and photoshop work, we managed to flip and seamlessly extend the image to create a continuous beach view - a wall-to-wall 180º sunset view.
The fitter even had to cut out sections of the bathroom wall to accommodate the length of the boat in the room, but even these are nicely clad with the image to carry the seamless feel around.
We think this is perhaps the most immersive bath-time you can imagine! It looks absolutely stunning, and Jane is suitably impressed with the results.
